How to Set Up a SIP Account on Any Softphone
A step-by-step guide to registering your HelloPBX SIP credentials on any softphone, on desktop or mobile.

Registering a SIP account is the same across nearly every softphone — you just need three pieces of information from your HelloPBX portal: your SIP username, your password, and the server host.
What you need
- SIP username (your account/extension number)
- SIP password (set or change it under SIP Accounts in your portal)
- SIP host: dial.hellopbx.net
- SIP port: 5060 (UDP)
Step-by-step
- 1Open your softphone and choose Add Account → SIP Account (manual configuration).
- 2Enter dial.hellopbx.net as the domain/host.
- 3Enter your SIP username and password.
- 4Set the transport to UDP and the port to 5060 (use TLS where supported for encryption).
- 5Save. The account status should change to Registered or a green indicator.
- 6Place a test call to confirm two-way audio.
If registration fails, double-check the password under SIP Accounts in your portal — you can edit or reset it there at any time.
