Paying for VoIP with Bitcoin & USDT: A Step-by-Step Guide
How crypto top-ups work for VoIP accounts, which network to pick for USDT, and the small mistakes that delay a deposit — explained simply.

Cards and bank transfers are slow or unavailable for many VoIP buyers, especially wholesale customers and teams working across borders. Funding a prepaid VoIP balance with cryptocurrency avoids chargebacks, works from any country and usually settles within minutes. Here is how it works on HelloPBX and how to avoid the common pitfalls.
Why prepaid balance + crypto works well for VoIP
- Prepaid — calls, numbers and extensions are paid from your balance, so there are no surprise invoices.
- Global — no card issuer or bank declines; anyone with a wallet can top up.
- Fast — stablecoin transfers typically confirm in minutes rather than days.
- Predictable — USDT tracks the US dollar, so the amount you send is the amount credited.
Option 1: USDT on TRC-20 (Tron)
- 1Open Recharge in the client portal and choose USDT (TRC-20).
- 2Enter the amount you want to add. The portal shows an exact amount to send — including a few cents that identify your payment — plus the wallet address and a QR code.
- 3Send exactly that amount, on the TRC-20 network, within the time window shown on screen.
- 4Your balance is credited automatically once the transfer confirms. You can close the page; the check keeps running in the background.
Send the exact amount shown, cents included. The unique amount is how your payment is matched to your account; a rounded amount can't be matched automatically and needs a support ticket.
Option 2: Bitcoin or USDT via crypto checkout
Prefer Bitcoin, or USDT on Ethereum? Choose Crypto (BTCPay) on the Recharge page. You are sent to a secure payment page with the address and amount for the coin you pick. When the payment settles, your balance is credited and you are returned to your dashboard.
Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Wrong network — USDT exists on several chains. Sending TRC-20 USDT to an ERC-20 address (or the reverse) can lose the funds. Always match the network shown on screen.
- Exchange withdrawal fees — some exchanges deduct their fee from the amount sent. Make sure the amount that arrives matches the amount requested.
- Expired payment window — if the timer runs out, start a new top-up instead of paying the old amount.
- Reusing an old address or amount — always use the details from your current top-up.
After your top-up
Your new balance appears in the header and on the dashboard, and every credit is listed in your payment history. From there you can buy DID or toll-free numbers, add SIP extensions or start calling right away. If a deposit hasn't appeared, open a support ticket with the transaction hash and we'll trace it for you.
